Nazia, a sixth-grade student, and Nafi, a second-grade student, were injured in a plane crash on the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara. The siblings later died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.They were buried at Rajabari Cemetery, adjacent to Kamarbari under Turag police station.
