BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "In the past 15 years, during the fascist government's rule, countless BNP leaders and activists have been eliminated, how many mothers' breasts have been emptied, how many children have lost their fathers, and we have had to endure imprisonment and torture."Our leaders and activists gave their lives in the July movement, and we were arrested. Yet one person gives his life in the movement, while another sits in power, dressed and booted.He made these remarks at a discussion meeting, prayer meeting and a program to help the helpless organized by JASAS on Monday (June 2) to mark the 44th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder martyr President Ziaur Rahman.Criticizing the chief advisor's statement in Japan, he said, "He is a highly respected person but three to four advisors are misleading him by listening to him."The BNP spokesperson said that democracy cannot survive without an atmosphere of mutual respect and compromise. To strengthen democracy, all forces must work together.Under the chairmanship of JASAS joint convener lyricist Ithun Babu, BNP Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashraf Uddin Ujjal, Treasurer Rashiduzzaman Millat, BNP leader Engineer Badal, JASAS leader Khaled Enam Munna and other leaders also spoke at the event. Later, a prayer mahfil was held.
